The 417 Female Pelvic Floor Recommendations During Perimenopause + Menopause

Menopause and perimenopause can be a confusing time. There seems to be both a lack of information, and an overwhelming consensus that there is not a consensus of what do do to help.

Whether it is hormone imbalance, fatigue, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, vaginal atrophy, pain with sex, or a plethora of other symptoms, women are struggling and are not sure where to find answers.

The research is truly all over the place. This makes it hard to make decisions, hard to decide if HRT is safe and effective, and ultimately comes down to personal decisions and time spent researching and advocating for one's self.

What we do know is what can be especially helpful for the pelvic floor muscles and vaginal tissue.

Products We Love

Here is a list of products we love during menopause and perimenopause. These products are centered around helping with painful intercourse, vaginal atrophy, and vaginal dryness.

  1. Organic Coconut Oil

The quickest, easiest thing to try for vaginal dryness is good ole coconut oil. It is a cheaper, long lasting option that can help, especially when used for lubrication during intercourse. It is one of our favorite recommendations at The 417 Female!

  2. V magic Vulva Balm We love Vmagic! It is made with natural ingredients and is gentle on the skin, especially for individuals with sensitive skin. This can be extremely helpful for vaginal dryness, especially when used in conjunction/alternation with vaginal estrogen cream.

  3. Julva Julva is a vaginal moisturizer that contains DHEA. This can be very helpful when used for vaginal dryness, especially in alteration with vaginal estrogen cream.

  4. Fringe Light Therapy Pelvic Wand They truly come up with everything, right? This cool new development is a red light wand that comes with red light (infrared, near-infrared) and blue light settings, along with vibration settings which can be helpful in getting blood flow to tissue. I was personally a skeptic until I tried the wand for myself after my hysterectomy, and saw the significant improvement (quickly) with my internal scar tissue healing. I have spoken with other pelvic health practitioners who have also used this wand to aid in their menopausal transition with amazing results. We have these in stock in the clinic, or they can be ordered from the Fringe website directly!
